I definitely believe meditation has physiological benefit
Americans today typically don’t take enough time out of their days to relax. Meditation is one of the best ways to ensure at least one part of the day is spent de-stressing and allowing the mind and body to rest (although it takes time cultivating relaxation of the mind). Much of the health problems in our society (heart attacks, obesity, etc.) stem from too much stress.
Meditation is one of the best ways to alleviate this stress and make the mind become aware that stress in not a requisite of life.
